You need to provide better photos......taken when the sun is not directly behind the subject!! Close ups of the leaves and twigs at least. Is the tree evergreen? Why do you think it is a fruit tree? And where on the planet do you live?

It definitely looks mature enough to produce limes or lemons, lemons are green when young and first forming. The blooms of both limes and lemons are very sweet smelling too.

It doesn't really look citrusy but it looks healthy. Mash a leaf and smell it. Citrus leaves do smell sort of lemony. And then take some more pictures!

Tell us where in the world you live. Climate, country, state, etc. And get a closeup of the leaves. If you think it's a citrus, there are many possible explanations why you're not getting (edible) fruit. One very common one is the rootstock has overtaken the edible variety.

I'll try to take better pictures tomorrow. I'm in zone 8b Southeast Coastal Georgia. We have had lots of rain recently. I thought it might be some kind of fruit because it was growing in the area that the previous owners had made into a garden. We also have a red olive tree and a fig bush in that same area. I'll take some more pictures with close-up of the leaves.

It looks as if it has been clipped into a roundish shape. If it is a fruit tree that could explain the lack of fruit. What did the flowers look like?

Let's see if this picture makes it any more clearer.

Looking at the twigs and leaves it does appear to be a Citrus. Has it been kept clipped? That could inhibit flowering.

I had to prune a branch that was leaning on the fence into our neighbors yard. Since it doesn't appear to be fruiting, should I prune some of the inner branches in the fall to allow more light into the tree?
