I'd probably opt for a wood door the color of the brick, and paint the trim a similar color to the trim on the house.

Unfortunately the door is pretty new with the house. Our only options right now are to paint, though I have seen apparently that you can paint a door to look like wood, that could be a pretty big risk for someone who isn’t great at painting ha ha

Paint the door the same color as the rest of what you just painted. No white trim.

Also, some big, dramatic light fixtures on either side of the garage and the big picture window would brighten the space.

How about repeating the color of the stone? Paint all trim the color of the siding.

Focus on landscaping to complete the job. Add a tall shrub or ornamental tree like River Birch on either side of the main house. In front of the windows plant some very low growing evergreens, ones that will not block the bottom of the window. Mix with perennials and annuals for color. Add a hardwood out in the yard.

The white gutter and white trim needs to be painted your dark color. Painting the garage that same color is too much imo. I like the example above replicating the brick color. The house looks more balanced.

Another vote for the mock up above matching the brick.

When funds permit you might want to consider a more contemporary garage door design.
