Going Off Line for the week.

I will be going off-line after this post for the week, as I prepare to take many plants to the sale/auction in Maryland. I know I will be coming back with several plants as one of my friends is downsizing and giving away clumps. I will list everything I have acquired when I return.

Here is what was blooming today (all pictures were taken between 2-3 pm.

PARTY PINAFORE: Great looking bloom except for a small whole in a petal. I remember seeing this as a new introduction in the daylily journal many moons ago and said I will have to get this plant. It has been slow to get established and I suspect it does not like being divided.

CARELESS DREAM: This is a great Bennett intro: Blooms are huge 7 to 8 inches.

BIRTHDAY WISHES: Tall and grabs your attention.

LIKE A SHEPHERD: interesting looking bloom.

TWEAKED OUT: Looking more like the hybridizer's pictures

GLORIOUS TEMPTATION: Older diploid. It has a cooling effect on me,.

JUBILEE BALL: Another outstanding Bennett pink.

I have already enjoyed Jubilee Ball, an earlier bloomer here. It seems as though you have mixed reactions to Like a Shepherd.

I like the later in the season bloom as opposed to the early in the season bloom. I like this bloom as it does not appear to be muddy. I like the softer look of this bloom and the colors seems to work better for me as opposed to the early blooms.

Have a good time Maryland. I have Party Pinafore and have always loved it. Beautiful color and edge. It has always seemed to do well for me until I moved it. You may be right about dividing it. I accidentally left a couple of fans in the original spot, and they are doing well, but the moved plant blooms less and shorter. Careless Dream is really nice, and Like a Shepherd has a beautiful bloom.
