Masonry question! We have an outdoor kitchen project going on right now. We are waiting to finish the bluestone patio. A limestone veneer will go on the outdoor kitchen bar (currently cinder blocks) with a cement countertop. The limestone veneer materials have been delayed for months because of COVID.

Our mason says that they need to finish the veneer before they can do the bluestone patio. I keep asking why we can't finish the patio first and then do the kitchen veneer after the patio is done. Our backyard has been like this for 2 months and it is very frustrating that we can't just finish the patio so it is usable while waiting for the kitchen to be completed.

Can someone please explain to me why we need to do the veneer first (Option A in the attached diagram) instead of doing the limestone patio first (Option B in the attached diagram)? A picture of the space is also attached. I've asked our mason this question multiple times, and have not gotten an answer. Thanks!
