We recently purchased a house and the basement has an opening in the floor where there are two drains. Both have a cover bolted on them. One of them has some stuff around it (like it overflowed). Please see photo. We didn't see this opening earlier as it was under a carpet when we first saw the house. The stuff was not wet to touch but it does not look very pretty. Thank you.
