Capital Culinarian oven ignitor--generic replacement?

The ignitor on our oven is failing yet again. The parts that are sold as "OEM replacements" (are they actually still in business?) run about $200; generic oven ignitors that look about the same run $20 to $40.

Anyone have experienc with one of the generic parts that works? Or the part number from a different range that uses the same part? For sure Capital never made these parts, but bought something off the shelf.

This is the 36" gas, non-self-cleaning range.

Both the original & the chosen replacement for the DCS were made by Norton (I found old paperwork); I have no idea how they compare to the Robertshaw version.

In answer to my own question, if anyone is ever looking for the information, the ignitors are made by Robertshaw and either the 41-203 or 41-204 will fit and work correctly. Both have previously been sold to me as the "OEM part". Cost is ~$30. The appliance parts places that will sell you the "Capital original equipment part" for $200 are a rip off.

Be gentle when you handle them, the carbide ignitor elements are fragile. DAMHIK.

I have a similar, but older, DCS range that required an oven ignitor last year (luckily the first one in 18 years) & I bought an OEM part from Letstalkparts.com for about $120 including shipping. Since the original DCS owners morphed into Capital Range, parts may have been from the same manufacturer. I don't remember the manufacturer of mine but it was the same as the original & made in the USA.

Back when I researched this, I came across comments concerning the cheaper Robertshaw ignitors that didn't last because they didn't produce sufficient heat for the pro ovens ( I'm not an engineer & this is the closest explanation I can remember so please take it with a grain of salt). Hope this helps.

There's no reason to think that Robertshaw is not the manufacurer of these parts. They are the primary producer of such things in the US. The parts are absolutely identical in every particular. There's no reason for Capital and the like to make their own when they can just buy the part. Small companies can't afford to do that.

It's really hard to figure out who makes what! I've found several refernces now that Norton makes the ignitors distributed by Robertshaw, but I can't nail that down. Sorry for any misinformation. The part number I suggested does work in my oven, which is the good news; replacement is a 10 minute task, so I can go through a number of the $30 ones without feeling bad. I bought a spare so I won't be out of service long the next time.

I bought the Robertshaw based on this thread and it lasted lasted less than 2 years - 18 months to be exact. I'm not sure what to do now - I could just replace them every 18 months and that would probably be cheaper than the OEM, but a big pain. This range has been nothing but a lemon since I got it 6 years ago.
