looking for help to positively identify a potted palm

Hi there:

I have been going under the assumption that I have a parlor palm (Chamaedorea elegans). The plant has become infested with spider mites and I brought it outside to spray with a water jet. However, I discovered the fronds are BARELY attached to the soil by the smallest of roots and I'm afraid they will detach at any moment. Since I've never encountered discussion of this with a parlor palm, I suspect it may be something else.

I haven't found a site which gives detailed descriptions of palms so I'm hoping that you, O Collective Plant Wisdom, might be able to tell from these photos if this is indeed a parlor palm or if not, what it might be.

I also noted that the last two leaves on each frond are joined at the base...

Thanks for the help!
