Do they have larger size for larger drawers. One pull looks best IMHO.

Should be closer to a 12” pull for that size. Constantly pulling on only one small pull could present problems with the drawer IMO. And when you have stuff in your hands, can’t use both pulls.

One pull is best, and it should be about 1/3 the width of the drawer to be the most proportionate. So I would look for another pull that is approximately 12” wide (I fixed my typo). The reasons why 2 pulls per drawer are less desirable are because people tend not to use both pulls to open the drawer, and just yank on one. Over time, that leads to the drawer racking, and also to the pull that is used the most coming loose frequently. Two pulls per drawer are also more expensive.

You didn’t mention your other kitchen drawers, But I would vary their pulls’ sizes according to the 1/3 width I mentioned. That is why they make different pull sizes. They’re for different drawer sizes.

Thanks for everyone’s comments and suggestions. For this particular pull 5 1/16” is the largest size Top Knob made. I did look at the 12” sizes and was surprised by how expensive they were- $80-$90 range. I have (3) 36” drawer cabinets, (3) 18”, (1) 27” and (1) 24” . I guess, I just need to bite the bullet and pay for the more expensive larger pulls. On the brighter side, we have done most of the install ourselves with the exception of the countertops. An anyone recommend other websites to check out for cabinet hardware? I have looked at TopKnobs.com, TopKnobsDecor.com, Build.com and Amazon of course :). Again, I appreciate everyone’s comments and suggestions. We are in the home stretch for finishing this project. Yeah!

Oops. I forgot to mention that I do not want pulls that have ends that could potentially get caught on clothing, etc. My son has an insulin pump and you would be amazed at how many times the tubing has gotten stuck on knobs, thus ripping out the device from his abdomen. I am assuming some of these bar pulls will do the same.

Something is wrong with your search. I have Top Knobs Princetonian pulls in several sizes. The 11-3/8” size is $14.55 each. They offer many sizes. They come in 4 finishes. I have the brushed silver finish. I love its looks and its quality feel. It does not have the ends that stick out like you mentioned. There are many other pulls that do not cost $80-90 for the 12” size.

Thank you M Miller. You are so correct...Here’s another oops on my part. I was looking at the 12” appliance pull price. I do like you pull choice. I am going to order a sample today!! Thanks again. This could be the one. Plus less holes to drill in our cabinets. A win-win all around.

There should never be 2 pulls on a drawer they are a PITA not to mention they also usually pull the drawer open awkwardly. Use a nice simple good quality stainless pull in the proper proportion for all the cabinets and drawers Lee Vally has some great ones in tons of sizes and decently priced

I beg to differ about how many pulls to use on larger drawers. I have mostly had, and prefer two pulls on drawers in the 33" - 36" range. I think that they look better, and a personal choice. Of course size of the pulls will dictate that. I personally do not like long pulls.

Perhaps I am strange, but I seldom try to open a drawer with one pull. I simply place the item down on the counter and open with two hands...though probably was a different story when I had young children. LOL Even when using one hand, my drawers held up great and never went out of line. I had great slides!

I am also in the camp that prefers to close my own cabinet doors. For my new kitchen, my cabinets come with the soft close. Although not yet in the house, I am struggling not to grab and push the doors closed when checking the cabinets out. For drawers, I prefer the hipster method, so the soft close will be good.

Previous kitchen with 4.5" pulls. I will have 5" pulls.

I think they both look good. I'd do just one though.

On a slightly related topic, I have some really big drawers and was going to put 2 knobs on them but I forgot and installed singles. They work fine. They aren't FEATURE knobs and don't stand out.

I have simple Shaker cabinets and chose simple brushed satin nickel cabinet pulls that are 5.5”, and are Top Knobs code # M391❣️As you can see there are 2 pulls on the larger drawers and single pulls on the cabinets and small drawers. Nothing catches on them. I am quite happy with the pulls.

The smaller pull is hard for a person with larger hands to use. Single wider pulls are better.

I searched for weeks to find a style I liked, in the finish I wanted, but in two sizes. I have 6” and 8” pulls and they have a high projection because my husband has large hands. We bought samples of everything before pulling the trigger. It was tedious but well worth the time and research. I agree with your requirement that nothing sticks out at the ends for clothing to catch on. Here are my pulls. The smaller ones are also for the spice drawers in my island.

Wow, so many great ideas and kitchens… I still haven’t’ made a final decision. I did order a sample of the Top Knobs Princetonian bar pull in honey bronze. Would it be crazy if I do this pull on my white shaker cabinets that are the perimeter of my kitchen and choose a different pull style and finish on my island which is a shaker cabinet in sunset suede Rustic Alder? I am thinking of using a matte black finish in a Top Knobs Griggs Pull M393.

This is the island. We don’t have the countertops yet. They are going to be Silvastone Calacatta Gold.

Djmbott: since your island is like a separate piece of furniture, I think the different hardware would be fine❣️

Different hardware on the different island is good. I would keep the style the same, but not the color necessarily.

At this length, I'd still say one pull. If the drawer was maybe another 4" or longer, I'd say two would be better. There's a lot to consider with any cabinet decision. Best of luck!

@AP how wide are your pulls?

They vary according to the drawer size. I tried to follow the 1/3 rule. I thought it would bug me to have different sizes but I don’t even notice. I believe my largest is 12”

I came here looking for advice and have found such beautiful kitchens and now I’m also reconsidering my pull choice when I read about open ends getting caught on clothes, etc.

Our kitchen will have white shaker cabinets. I was originally considering the Emtek Freestone and I’m stuck on sizes.
Here are drawer sizes:
3 drawers under the cooktop that are approx 36”
3 other drawers that are 32.5”
1 that’s 23.5”
1 that is 11.5”

Should the 36 and 32.5 be the same length?

I was thinking of using the 10” which would be 12.5” length on the 3-36” drawers and the 3-32.5” drawers. I was going to use these on the 36” wall cabinets too.

For the 23.5 drawer I was going to use the 8” which is 10.5” long and then use that same length for all the base cabinet doors.

For the 11.5” drawer I’m thinking 4” pull which is 5.25” length.

The garbage pullout is 17.5” wide so it should probably get the 5” which is 6.75”.

For the wall cabinets over the double oven and refrigerator I was going to use knobs.

That would mean I’m using a combination of 10” pulls, 8” pulls, 4” pull, 5” pull and knobs! Seems like a lot right? Should i drop the knobs and make them 5” pulls?

I think the less sizes you use, and using all pulls ( no knobs), will make your cabinets look more streamlined; especially since you have simple Shaker stye cabinets.

I used long pulls on my 36 inch drawers and love the look, easy to pull open drawers, and clothes don’t get caught.

Love the mixed cabinets. Your kitchen looks so pretty-and so clean!!
How many different sizes did you use throughout? I like the way the long pulls look too but don’t want too busy a look with different sizes.

I used three different pull sizes for drawers and knobs for all cabinets.

Did not want white lower cabinets and drawers as they get beat up the most so paint would chip and need constant wiping down.

My large pulls were no where near $80

I used these and love them

Having two pulls on a 36 inch drawer looks more busy than one long one, and only need one hand to pull open drawers.

I know this thread is from last year, it for what it’s worth: we’re in the process of redoing our kitchen, and we’ve chosen Top Knob’s Aspen Flat in Lt Bronze…..solid cast bronze. We’re using sizes 6”, 9” and 12”, even though at almost $200/12” pull I had to take a deep breath! I think I would have been ok with 9” pulls on the wider drawers, but (miracles do happen!) ultimately hubby decided it didn’t look right and we needed the 12” pulls. Only the very top cabinets (13” tall, glass, going up to 10’ ceiling) have flat knobs….everything else has the pulls.

(No worries, I speak perfect autocorrect 😉) If you saw my kitchen right now, you might run screaming….it’ll be at least middle of August before it’s all done….IF the tile guy can come soon after the counters are in. In 3 weeks we have to clear out the entire main floor….hardwoods are getting refinished; I think that will be the worst part of all….dragging every bit of furniture (about 2300 sf, not counting bathrooms and laundry, of course) into the garage or down the stairs…..😱😱😱. As hubby likes to say: well, you wanted this! (Maybe I was temporarily insane when we planned this) On top of all this baby girl decided she just HAS TO get married THIS FALL! 😳I’ll try to post pics once we’re done, provided I’m still of sound mind then.

Ok, lynn2235…..in case I’ll forget: the orange kitchen is my current one; the second photo (found on Houzz, naturally) shows my sort of inspiration kitchen….really more in look, or vibe, rather than colors etc. Our kitchen will have soft gray-green (island and fridge/breakfast corner) and white (everywhere else) cabinets, with the perimeter countertops being Taj Mahal, and the island gets a thick, oiled walnut slab. We’re taking the cabs all the way to the ceiling (10’), and the last foot will have glass doors….no open shelving. The look will be nice and clean, as in the photo, but we’re doing full overlay cabs instead of frameless. (A. I needed to save $$ somewhere, and B. even though many folks are using frameless nowadays, we live in a very humid climate, and humidity can cause doors and drawers to stick.) The hood stays, it’s already new…though we may darken it a bit. We’re getting a 36”, double bowl farmhouse sink, with faucet and accessories to match the new pulls. Oh, we’re also replacing the windows with triple-glazed walnut ones from Kolbe. Our floors will also no longer be orange! Now we pray that it’ll all come together!🤞

Oh….backsplash will be Clé’s Zellige tile in weathered white, 4x4, stacked….looks a bit more organic and “rustic”.

@coray you literally made me laugh out loud. First of all, congratulations on the upcoming wedding. Hope she has an incredible day! Just think-all this stress and working out will make you an even more beautiful mother of the bride.
You may want to consider getting a pod. Friends of ours used one and it worked out great for them. Good luck with everything. We should be in our house by the end of the month 🤞but I can’t decide on cabinet pull sizes so I just suggested that we wait until we’re in to decide. Hubby just sighed… lol

I used Top Knobs Princtonian. I love them. I like that they were a combo of straight lines and curved.
