Water leaking from Furnace Humidifier ? Helpppp

I came down stairs and waters dripping from this unit on the side of the furnace?

There is calcium build up so I cleaned that ..I couldn't find out any information on this system>?

There is a trough inside that's sitting on the side of the furnace and a hose from the Hot Water Tank that supplies water .

And it keeps filling with water? Is that normal-? Is the system supposed to drip water or fill to the top with water?

Quite a bit of calcium build up from the water ? It basically is a float and a trough that hold the water.

Any advice would be great !

Follow the water line from the humidifier to a cutoff valve and shut off the water till you figure out why it’s leaking or over filling.

Why is it hooked up to a hot water line?

ya tried that.. it wouldn't shut off - I propped something under the float - to stop the water filling - wonder where I can find parts for this unit?

This looks like a old humidifier with a lot of rust. It is probably not worth repairing even if you could find the parts. Installing a new one is not that expensive. If you do replace it verify that it can be connected to a hot water line.

The best solution is having no humidifier. What is the humidity in the house during the winter? Have you ever tried turning if off as a test?

Your humidifier should be shut off during air conditioning season or you risk adding humidity to the same air your air conditioner is working to dehumidify.

Also Does anyone know how to adjust the float? So I can make it lower ? Is it supposed to fill to the top? or just 1/2 way ?
