Name That Plant!

help needed to id this plant

I found several of these plants in my veggie garden ( I didn't plant them ) but I did pull them up and replant and now they are going to seed. I have no clue what these are . I thought originally that they might be broccoli but I really dont know it seems to be much too wispy a plant to be broccoli .

Is anyone familiar with this plant ? Can someone id it for me so I know whether to rip it out before the seeds ripen or let it stay to collect the seeds when they are ready .

A Brassica. Something similar to Brassica rapa ssp. tricularis, yellow sarson, but it could also be a form of Brassica oleracea. There's so much genetic variation and hybridization going on between both species that I can't say for certain what it exactly is. Their seeds are used in birdseed mixes. Perhaps that's how they got there. Cabbage White butterflies use it as a host plant for their caterpillars.

All Brassicas are edible but only you can decide whether it’s palatable.

Wow talk about a convoluted way to find out what the plant in my garden is .

I just watched a CBC documentary and I believe the plant growing in my garden is Canola ! Pictures of leaves , flowers and seed pods match ! I was so shocked . Absolutely have no idea how it got there . Who knew this is what it could be . Here are links to pics of the flowers, the leaves and finally the seeds pods

Many Brassicas have very similar flowers and seed pods. Could be Canola but not necessarily.
