If the trunk looks firm and not wrinkled, it should be fine. I've had this plant skip an entire growing season several times over the 6 years I had one. Keep it outside where it's hot but out of the rain when you won't be able to control watering. I would give it maybe a quarter of a cup of water every so often (maybe every two months?) and every time I expect it to die, it didn't. It would return the following spring after being indoors in winter. I was guessing it was missing some kind of temperature-related cue when spring temps were erratic and unusually long cold snaps aborted growth.

I never figured it out, though. It got left outdoors too long one autumn and died that winter.

Looks like P. gaeyi; unless it had dark green leaves with metallic sheen to them; then it could be lamerei.

Thank you so much for your fast reply. The trunks are all hard, just the tips look slightly thin and somewhat wrinkled. So naturally I thought it might be rotten, so I cut the tip of one of the trunks(branches). It was white inside and firm. So I left it as is. Lets hope that it will sprout next growing season. Btw the leaves are thin and
