Yeah, looks like a right-handed person couldn’t even sit and write. Is this a new kitchen? Is the counter 36” high like a regular kitchen counter? And how wide is the chair opening?

Recently the desk was replaced in my kitchen for drawers. I love the drawers but miss having a chair readily available for all 5'2" of me to climb on to reach upper cabinets.

Can you use the desk as counter space for a coffee station or storing cook books?

When I entertained and needed every inch of counter space I would put appliances such as the toaster oven and food processer under the desk.

I just added a coffee/tea station in my kitchen and love it! It would work well in your area IMO.

Add one or two shelves in your open area on the bottom for storage. House some kitchen appliances on the counter. Purchase some good looking containers to put on the counter area to house kitchen items. If you have a set or sets of stacking bowels you can set them out. If you collect cookie jars, or other interesting items: set them on the counter. Place your cook books there for easy access❣️

Get a wine fridge put it in the space where the chair is suppossed to go . That would be the easiest. Napkins and placemats in the drawers and booze and glassware in the uppper cabinet.
