Marvin casement window structural brackets

Any Marvin window installers here have experience using these brackets on a mulled casement window? I have a couple questions about installing the brackets if anyone have experience with them.

    What exactly is your question?

    Couple questions,

I'm doing a full frame replacement and I see after attaching the brackets to the window, I attach the 90 degree to the outside framing. My walls are already sheet rocked and with the jamb extensions on and the sheetrock, it is going to be tuff to bend the bracket around the inside frame to attach it to the inside frame.

Would just attaching the 90 degree bent part to the out side frame be enough to support the mulled window including the nailing fin on the outside and not attach the bracket to the inside framing?

Or should I cut out enough sheet rock to try to bend the bracket up to attach to the inside frame. which I may have to repair the sheetrock if the widow casing does not cover the cutout?

Another question is when attaching the bracket, should I put a bead of construction adhesive before attaching the bracket? I see the instructions call for it when using attaching brackets on the side which I'm not using but did not call it out for the top.

Trying to get a feel how others may do it when the inside walls are finished and how they would go about attaching the inside side of the bracket.

    Thanks

For the bracket at the top jamb of the window frame there would be drip cap/head flashing at the top so that would not need caulk unless you wanted to as it will not hurt The sheetrock needs to be removed as the brackets need to attached securely to the wood framing on the inside of the home. Have you seen this link?

Thanks. I will cut out the sheetrock then and install correctly. None of the video of an install even show using the brackets when doing a double casement mulled window. I guess some installers take the time to install them thanking the nailing fin is enough.

Thanks for the link and the info.

Yeah, flanges are not enough for sure. I do not even like to really see new const. windows using the flange. Shimmed properly and screwed thru the jambs or the strap anchors like you are using is the best. Although in Hurricane Impact Regions they have to use the straps today.
