Bathroom tile height

We're currently renovating our small bathroom (roughly 8'x8') and we're putting tile on all 4 walls. The tiles are 4"x4" squares and will be straight stacked.
The top of our vanity will be at 35" (this is the top edge of the vessel sink, the counter top is a few inches lower and the faucets will be a few inches higher).
How high up the wall should we tile? 48" would bring the tile well above the sink and the mirror would have to be set into it. It would also cover the outlet that's going on the wall to the side of the mirror. 37" would still provide a backsplash but would run under the outlet and possibly under the mirror as well.
Any advice? What's a standard sort of height for a partially tiled wall?
The pictures show the bathroom in its current state. I know it's hard to get a good feel for the room from them.
