Well if you post a picture you might actully get some help. You can just rewire the one you have often.

I second the idea of repairing the one that shorted out.

Thanks for the advice. I was lined up to do as you suggested with a local fixture repair person but then I did a long google search using images and key words (amber, iron, pendant light) and, lo and behold, it popped right up. Of course, out of stock but ebay had one of the exact size and type I needed. And only $35. For all the issues with social media and the internet, boy, it sure is amazing sometimes. Thanks for you help.
