Remove sealer from honed marble

I just had beautiful Honed Montclair Danby marble installed in my kitchen. But I’m concerned they did not use the right sealer. From what I’ve read, an “impregnating sealer” should be applied and then wiped off before it dries. With the sealer they used I was told to wait a day before putting anything on the counters. A day later they are sticky, residue feeling.

Can/should I remove the residue myself? What should I use? Will this require resealing with a different type of sealer?

Thanks in advance! I’m new to owning marble so appreciate any help.
