Lavender Crush is purple with white reversal. However, the color varies with temperature and intensity of light exposure. Mine is in its 2nd year. I am training it horizontally, but you can grow it on a obelisk. HMF has good examples of lavender crush on obelisks. As far as i know it is only available grafted on Dr. Huey. I have coastal climate here in SF. Roses are susceptible to anthranose, rust, downy mildew and powdery mildew, but LC does not need to be sprayed.

A choice of "cool" pink is Spirit of Freedom. The bloom is big with 200 petals. It is an excellent climber in our weather. There are great pictures posted by others with more mature bushes

on garden web. Mine is very young, just planted in March this year.

Also check out David Austin's Tess of the Durbervilles, which is a crimson red climber.

I don't grow Tess of the Durbervilles, Tuscany Superb or Bleu Magenta. SoF is very disease resistence so far.

Forgot to mention that Lavender Crush has very strong lemon fragrance.

Not Mme. Isaac Pereire. Think of trying to hold a toddler who is having a tantrum. I will dismantle mine from her obelisk before winter and try letting her grow as a large shrub if she stays. My other one drapes herself on a picket fence. Even that is too much restraint for her.

And, not Quicksilver. They want to grow straight up on stiff canes.

Tess of the d'Urbervilles is a good choice. Mine is more or less leaning on a smaller tuteur. Young canes would be easy to wrap and secure.

Wollerton Old Hall would be an excellent choice. I didn't expect him to get so tall, so he will get an obelisk next spring. His canes are flexible.

I also have Kordes cl. Moonlight trailing on a picket fence. He's pretty good in that situation, but not obelisk material, as you pointed out.

I wonder if cl. Souvenir de la Malmaison would work. Mine is not on an obelisk, but she seems pretty flexible. She's a good bloomer and pink.

I grow a couple Spirit of Freedom bushes as shrubs, but I think they would work.

Beautiful photos! I am leaning toward Tess of the d’Urbervilles so far. i think I would like to avoid more pastels.
