Another small milestone! Laundry rm. nearly done.

We aren’t even finished hooking up the sink, but I wanted to share our latest little milestone. The laundry room has always only ever had a wall-hung fiberglass utility sink, and now I have cabinetry and a nice sink & faucet! Don’t get me wrong - the fiberglass tub did a great job for us all these years, but after 30 years it’s nice to upgrade to this. The room is behind the kitchen off our back entry. It’s fairly visible to visitors, so it also feels more presentable. I didn’t even want to wait for it to get finished before sharing. They’re pretty basic laminate stock cabs. The top is thermally treated ash butcher block. It comes unfinished. I used two coats Osmo PolyX in clear to seal it - no stain. That Carmel color is natural after the wood is heat treated. The wood actually smells like a sugary/smoky carmel kind of scent when cut. It has a very rich tone in the grain. Really lovely. The small cab on the right is a two-bin recycling center, and the 36 base was only available with a drawer, but easily converted to sink base for the giant tub. That tub was a kit that included the faucet and so far it was definitely worth the splurge. All from Home Depot. Links available on request.
