add some perlite [a goodly amount] to your soil mix ... your present mix is holding too much water. stick a dry popsickle stick in your soil if you think it is time to water. If it comes out damp, do not water. If it comes out dry, water.

well bragu ... that brings up my usual conundrum ... do you repot a severely stressed plant... or leave it alone to dry out and when its in better shape.. repot then ... i just dont know ...

i agree that media looks like straight peat ... which is always a watering problem .. unless you are growing water hogs ... this is what good media should look like ...

anyway.. you can make your own.. or just buy better... i always use promix.. and i buy it in the bale form in the link ... but most of us dont need that much ...

bottom line.. the most important thing in a pot is the media.. not the plant .. it is a water management system.. to retain what moisture the plant needs and shed excess .. and you use different mixes for very different plant [e..g. a cactus in this mix would be dead in weeks] .....

thru proper watering.. you can learn how to water according to the plants needs.. no matter what you have it in ... but why start with a problem.. and waste time and dead plants trying to figure it out.. start with good media ....

bottom line.. water when a plant needs it.. not on some random schedule. or every time you see the watering can ... insert finger and find out.. and you can often tell by the weight of the pot.. presuming its small enough to lift ...

I think that is an Alocasia.

The leaf petioles and pattern of color do not resemble Anthurium.

Here is a pic of A. clarinervium and crystallinum.

Alocasia was my first thought too, but the care would be the same.
