Good entryway size

What'

s a good entryway size? Enters into great room which takes up half the house and is 22 x 32 and includes dining, kitchen and living. Entryway must have bench for shoe removal and a place to hang coats (prefer coat closet AND hooks). Sizing for all great room features is up in the air. Any input is appreciated. Thank you!

Maybe try again with the plan? Are you asking about the formal (front door) entry or the 'family' one -- or is there only one? I'd think about how many people will be IN the area during normal 'rush hours'.

Our 3000 sq ft home has a foyer 16 X 16 that contains the bottom third of a staircase. We have a back hall between garage and kitchen that is the depth of the house. One end is laundry (with a window), and the other end is hallway flanked by double-door closet and a half bath (with a half-glass door to the back yard). I always want toilet and sink near the family entry.
