You could try an oval mirror and light fixture with more curves. Possibly add wallpaper to the wall behind the tub, a contemporary flora.

A beautiful, subtle wallpaper would really transform this room. Is that a possibility?

Glass knobs would look nice on the cabinets, too.

And was also going to say hardware. I would update the hardware to anything you like. Most will look good in here.

(The only other thing I’d consider is the stacked tile. But that’s a personal preference. I’d have it removed and simplified with the same tile.
Or when you get a new mirror just remove the Tile and have the mirror go down to the countertop )

I like the idea of wallpaper. I would say no to doing a free-standing tub unless you plan on re-doing the floor tile as well.

I think I may start with the wallpaper & glass knobs and then see if I can live with the mirror.

We do have extra floor tile however, there’s heat in the flooring and I don’t know if we might mess that up in the process.

Bling up the lights. round mirror. Maybe drawer pulls that are crystal drops. And a fluffy / puffy stool.

Get some art, too - something with a fuschia / coral perhaps? a floral something

I really dislike pink and don't have it in my house on purpose, my closet, only a bit in the garden but I think when you've done the other things mentioned above you might consider blush towels and tub mat....just a subtle change.

A niece with king bed and king-sized husband just did all their bedding new in blush, and he likes it ;0)

I actually like the wood!

I really disliked the first picture ... the one of the vanity and mirror, and I thought to myself, "It's the wood." Then I saw the second picture ... the picture of the tub, and I changed my mind ... I do like the wood. What's the difference? The wood is bold and a little bossy, but when paired with the large white tub, it looks good.

I think the issue is that the vanity area is too busy. I think the countertop needs to be changed to something more simple.

I don't think it's a bad looking bathroom and I'm usually a fan of wood color, but I don't think much will soften or feminize it too much with all that dark wood.

Your countertop is gorgeous and would look wonderful with cream cabinets.

I would paint the cabinet that sits on top of the cabinet if hubby isn’t up for painting all of it. It seems to make the vanity visually heavy, and if it were painted in the cream color taken from the countertop it would “float” more on top.

I would start with the simple (less expensive) changes first. As suggested above, maybe an oval mirror, new hardware and definitely a beautiful wallpaper.

I would try a MUCH more subtle paper than any suggested thus far. I would remove the mirror cabinet, if it is sitting on top of the counter. It's looming in that room. I hope you don't need the storage. Not sure if you actually sit at that "vanity" cut out. Shelves with baskets would be more useful in a moist place than a dressing table. Of course a free standing tub would fit but it means a lot of demo and floor and wall tile--which could use a curve vs the hard lines of the rectangles...

The cabinetry is beautiful don't cheapen it with paint.

No space for a free standing tub so forget that plan As for a bit of femininity I would probably paint all the dark wood something in a nice warm white BTW IMO they look poorly stained and very rustic.

Everything seems so “square”. A softer , more feminine shape in the mirror, a couple pretty side sconces. Loose the mosaic glass tile accent and replace with something subtle especially if you want to wallpaper. Yes to paint!

For some reason I thought blush pink in here too, prob bc pink does compliment brown. I agree take down thatmirror and change the light fixture. Either sconces on each side or these Hollywood ones on top three in a row. Not sure your fav color? But a feminine chair for the makeup counter would be a nice touch and a bar cart by tub to fill with tub things and flowers. Again feminine lol and adding screenshots of wallpaper I like but no clue how to do photo shop like everyone else!

More delicate mirror and lighting. If you can give up the counter cabinet, make that area into a makeup area/accessorize and place your ottoman there.

I’d paint the walls cream to complement floor/lighten the space and add a large rug for more softness.

Dress tub area up, considering convenience as well.

Last but not least, a chandelier would have a huge influence.
