Uh-huh,anything else you want to report?

Some kind of sensor attached to the condenser coil. The sensor has a black insulating pad around it. Which I discovered after ripping it out. Yikes. Clipped it back. AC wasn't blowing cold air. Cleaned filters and evaporation coils. No improvement. Freon next step.

Are you certain the compressor is running? It's sometimes hard to tell with fan noise and vibration going on. If the unit was cooling one day then not the next,most likly not freon problem.

I'm not certain. I don't have a trained ear. Yes that's exactly what happened. It was working before vacation(9/5)and when we got back it was only blowing cool but not cold air(9/12). It sounds like it normally does from the inside and outside. But like you said I could be just hearing the fan. The coils should give a clue? About the compressor? I appreciate you taking the time to answer my comments. That's pretty nice. The freon is in a contained unit I'm assuming. It shouldn't have to be added unless there's a leak. But your comment about the compressor is a good heads up. Thanks.
