Egyptian shrub or perennial?

My brother-in-law just lost his father who was from Egypt. I would like to give their family a shrub or perennial to plant in his memory. It would be nice to find a plant, that references Egypt in it’s name, if possible. Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you!

    If they have the room…Thuja occidentalis 'Pyramidalis'? But it is a tree.
