My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

i like the fireplace... is it electric??

    Hey guys, this is actually a direct vent gas fireplace by Heat N Glo, the 'Red 60'. The fireplace is natural gas--it is not bioethanol. Bioethanol is high maintenance in my opinion. The flame can have the colors changed as it comes with an LED kit that will illuminate the flame or simply illuminate the interior when the flame is not lit. The heat it puts off is significant, so it is installed with a power vent out the back side.

      This has to be a ventless fireplace. The easiest way to make blue fire is to burn a chemical that naturally produces a blue flame. Most types of alcohol burn as blue fire, such as ethanol, methanol, and isopropyl alcohol. Natural gas also burns with a blue flame.

      @dC Fine Homes & Interiors why is bioethanol "high maintenance"? I want to install into a built-in cabinet unit. There is no venting options...I thought ethanol was my only choice. I was looking at fireplace inserts from www.ecosmartfire.com as my only option. Please advise.

      I think ecosmartfire has some really great options for certain applications. However, having to manually fill it and the combustible element (storing it) is always a consideration. We, preferably, like to have units that are switched and easy....but again, that is personal preference.
