I am a stickler for proper lighting so change all the bulbs to LED 4000K and if this space is connected to a bedroom then IMO paint the walls the same as the bedroom and i would paint the mirror blact to tie into the door . What is the tub deck material ? IMO that should be the same as the vanity counter .

The tub deck material is also costa esmerelda, as is the top of the shower step and the top of the shower opening by the tub. Sorry, that mirror is not getting painted, as it is all inlaid wood, which I agree is difficult to see from the photo, and it’s not moving to another room. The mirror drove the choice of the stained vanity, but now I’m thinking painting the vanity might be better. Thanks for the recommendation on lighting. Since we have four windows in this bathroom (including skylight), it’s usually very bright during the day. I’ll look into changing them. I know perfection is out of reach, but attractive would be good:)

A creamy white or light tan might be nice. I don't know if you need to paint the vanity as it looks nice with the mirror frame.

What is it that you don't like about the Sea Salt?

I too like the Sea Salt...or a pale blue will look good as well.

Your vanity looks nice, but if wanting to paint what about a dark emerald green? I would choose a creamy white paint for the walls.

Thank you all for your ideas. Don’t think I’m up for an emerald vanity at this time (tho I did have emerald carpeting years ago, and it always made me happy). As to why not stick with sea salt, it’s just never felt “right” to me, tho I’d be open to a different color along those lines. And Patricia, we checked our lights, and they are already 4000k. Were switched out when the electric company conservation folks went thru the house and made suggestions for improving insulation and lighting

I do think a whiteish color would work, but I’m at a loss as to which one! Would prefer a color, but white seems best compromise. Hoping some folks with expertise in that area weigh in. Thanks all

The trim is BM Snowfall White 2144-70 and not changing.

Why not use the same white for the walls then? If you're looking for white walls, I mean. (Or is it too cool with the wood?) Use a different sheen to offer the eye a bit of contrast or difference. Otherwise, check out what BM suggests it goes with: Silver Mist, Excalibur Gray or Ice Formations are the three lighter of the four colours they suggest. Maybe you can play around with those suggestions. (My local BM stores have decorators onsite to help clients with their colour palettes. Perhaps an idea for you?)

Alternatively, you can paint match your tile surfaces (with an app like BM's ColorPortfolio) to give you a palette starting point. I'd try a few shades lighter than the green in your counter, for example. If the SW Sea Salt doesn't feel right in the space for you, try to figure out why. Is the blue in that colour coming out too strongly for you? Is it too light? Does it make your complexion look sickly? Etc. There can be a variety of reasons why a colour just doesn't suit a space for us but without knowing the reason, it can be difficult to figure out how to improve it.

FWIW, I would not paint the vanity or mirror trim. Both are gorgeous and complement the counter really well, imo.

So, I think I’ve made a decision. I have two rooms in my house that are painted in an old restoration hardware color which they called silver sage. It is NOT the same as the ben moore silver sage. A master colorist matched a chip and gave me the formula years ago. I think it will go well in the bath, has a bit more blue in it than the current color. We saved a chunk of our costa esmerelda when it went in, and I put it up against that color in our other rooms. I have the formula and hoping the Ben Moore base changes since then don’t impact us. I’m including photos, but the color really looks much more grey than in person. When it’s done I’ll post pics. Thanks for helping.
