We're in the middle of a remodel, and ordered a significant number of custom windows from Marvin: wood frame, leaded glass consistent with the originals in our 1910 Tudor house. Two months after we placed the order, with an estimated 14-16 week lead time, we called for an update and were just told that they won't be available for another 9 months. Effectively, our lead time just went from Halloween 2021 to Fourth of July 2022!!!

I get that supply chains are crazy right now, but this is ridiculous. I also now have a number of newly framed window openings that are just covered in plywood while we live in the house during this remodel, and Chicago winter is imminent!

We've called Pella to see if they can help us out, but I'm looking for advice- any other ideas? Any good interim solutions if we're actually left waiting that long for these windows? We're throwing around the idea of screwing thick plexiglass in place instead of the plywood, framing up plexiglass so we can consider having stucco work progress versus letting that get delayed a year, too....
