And you have cabinets on both sides....and the island in the middle = no.

If you have a long L (cabinets only on 1 long side), you could have a working island (no seating) with less than ideal aisle width of 3.5'...but it is enough if you have max 2 people in the kitchen at once.

You didn't include enough info, so based on what I "see", I would do something like these pictures if you are looking for just an island.
