Bye Tired Bow, We need to update the window in this 1960s split level
Design advice please!
We own a 1960's split level. We currently have the 1960's Brady Bunch bow window and want to update it. I got estimates for a bow window with side flanking windows ($6k) and a flat picture window with flanking windows ($3k). The window looks into our open concept living area where we have tons of light. My question is - pay the $6k for the bay or pay $3k for the flat window and throw the other $3k into sprucing up the outdoor area in front of the window? (Note the cheesy folding chairs and sad potted plants.) The first picture is current, the second picture is an imagined sitting area with flat window, patio and plantings. Please... I need input, oh fellow design enthusiasts...

I agree to both the flat window and making sure the replacement is like the other windows and also working on the front yard starting removing or at least moving the evergreen that is blocking the view of the front door and I always like a walkway from the street to the front door . I think aporch across the whole right side of the house would be a much nicer idea than sprucing up the ground level area , use the plants you have there for the new walkway. A new
front door and all the siding and trim in this color with the brick and maybe remove the shutters the whole change will be like having a new house.
