Linen closet layout in our master bath

We have a 35" wide x 45" deep closet framed as our linen closet. It is 8' tall with a large outward swinging door.

Dilemma: 22" depth shelves seem like a waste of space and make it almost a mini walk-in.

Any other ideas for shelving layout to better maximize the space? Rods to hang clothes perhaps for a combo linen/clothes closet?

Could you sketch a floorplan please? To what extend would you be prepared to change the layout? (for example replace the closet for something better)

We are already almost done with the remodel. The closet ballooned in size to make it flush with a large tub adjacent. Now we are trying to figure out what to do with the closet. Any ideas? Thanks

The closet is too deep but consider deep shelves low for bulky items and shallower shelves above.
