I am stuck with what to do for windows . Chairs are coming for table . We get great light and keep blinds totally open during the day , need privacy at night. Challenge is the windows go all the way to the ceiling and there is crown molding along ceiling on either side of window . We can hang a rod from the ceiling in front of the molding . We are totally open and kind of like the mini blinds but the box they hang from is an eyesore . We were thinking of hanging sheer fabric panels like this from a rod or a beautiful heavy white pinch pleated fabric .This is our window The condo is decorated primarily all black and white . Bits of blue and charcoal gray here and there but very little .
Question is do we keep mini blinds and hang fabric panels from rod on ceiling ? Thinking of white sheers or pinch pleated opaque white drapes . We will never close drapes but if we want to have panels clear the window and be on either side (just covering the wall )they will have to stand out from in front of window (probably around 2 to 3 inches ). I do not want to take molding down . If we want the rod to hang from the ceiling closer to the front of window the panels will have to hang in front of each side of window and we then would definitely use sheers so as not to block light . Open to any suggestions .

To summarize:
Sheers? Are embroidered white on white to fussy for living room ?

Pinch pleated panels on either side of window but will have to hang from a rod that stands 2-3 inches away from window so it can clear crown molding on either side .

Other option is no drapes, just leave mini blinds but what do I do about box on top while keeping a modern look ?
