I really like walls in the wet room, below. Can I replicate this look with a shower stall?

I'd like to use 6" base tile, and 3x6 wall tile on all the walls in my bathroom. All the floors, including the shower floor, will be traditional looking 2" hex.

The second photo has a curbed shower, and appears to have a continued the pattern on both sides of the shower wall. This shower floor seems to be at the same level as the bathroom floor. My shower will be higher than the floor, also with a threshold and glass door.

Can/should I keep the top of the base line continuous by shortening or eliminating the base tile inside the shower?

Another way to ask the question: Can I lay out the tile so the base tile on walls IN the shower appear to be the same height as the base tile on walls OUTSIDE the shower?
