Are you covering it to make the room dark? I don't think it's needed for privacy.

Is it too late to remove it? If they are still doing drywall, you still have time.

I like to sleep in a dark room, so a window like that would need blinds and they would stay closed because no one would bother to open/close every day. For me the window would be wasted money.

Tinted film will most likely void your window warranty and it won't make the room dark enough for me.

Since the house is already mid construction removing it won't be possible. We are wondering if we should put a shade on it or cover it another way. I'm hoping for suggestions that will look nice.

I would not put anything on it. I would put roman shades on the 2 side windows.

This really depends on what you need. If you don't care about light, leave it open. If you want to sleep in a dark room then you're stuck with an odd window treatment. I'd maybe consider cellular with motorization so it will automatically raise and lower on a schedule. But if you really need a window treatment I would remove the window.

You haven’t said why you want it covered. Is there a tall building across the street? A streetlight right outside? A neighbor kid with a drone? Surely you had a plan for this window when you built the house.

I wouldn’t cover it or film it.

The house is a spec home on a lot with a beautiful view out of the back, we are just trying to block the light coming into the room while we are sleeping. I do like the roman shade idea.

IMO leave it uncovered or get rid of it since any window covering up there will be impossible to clean and no to a roman shade which at that width will never function at all. Ithnk if this is going to bother you do awall of drapes that are motorized and hung form just above that window then porblem solved ansd a great look too.In your space something like this could work

Thanks Patricia, that would be a great solution! I wasn't sure how drapes would look hanging behind the bed, but it actually looks nice.
