Low E Windows headaches

We've lived in our house for 8 years (it's about 10 years old) in New England. It has Pella Low E windows. These windows make a death ray beam during certain times due to the reflected light. These beams scorch grass, burn skin, melt snow and vinyl siding, and recently start smoldering the mulch. This is concerning. The windows all have half screens. I'm okay with switching these out with full screens if that will defuse the light enough to stop these issues. I know there's films as well, but they all seem to drastically darken the window (like wearing dark sunglasses), while this is better than a fire it's still not ideal. There's also solar screens? Does anyone have experience dealing with this type of scenario and can make a recommendation?
