I think you just need some greenery, trees in the corners

Can we see the other two walls in this room? I think you have a good start....The headboard needs to be more substantial though and I am not a fan of the blue curtain panel in the middle of the window. What is the line running just above the top of the window? Looks like you need some lamps next to your bed and some art on the walls! Do you have any inspiration photos that we can see?

You need lighting! I would definitely add lamps on your night stands.

Yes, bigger art, or a horizontal pair, or group of 3 over the headboard. Good sized (30-33" tall) lamps on the nightstands - light turquoise lamp bases would be nice.

Is there a different place in the room for the chest in the window area? It looks too big and crowds the curtain panels. A mirror would be nice over it and maybe a jewelry box or something smaller on the top.

Will add other walls tomorrow. One wall has two doors on it, one to bath the other to the closet. The main view ( without the windows) is from the door to the room.

Love the view from your windows! The curtains hung fom the ceiling look awkward at that height...Were they originally hung where what looks to be lower curtain rods are? I think you need to lower them to about that level. Try that and re-take the picture--maybe tying the curtains up a bit to make them "romantically" drape, if that makes any sense. And I would prefer to see light blue and cream curtain panels with neither in the middle of the window (just draped on either side)--the brown is too dark for the windows IMO. The chest of drawers, as someone mentioned, are too big for that space in between the windows. I also think you need a more substantial headboard (DIY project if you aren't looking to spend on a headboard/bed) or a canopy bed would look great in here. A cream throw blanket at the end of the bed would be nice to break up the dark brown bedspread.

Fill out your bedding with pillows and rolls... Lose the picture over the headboard, or add others to form a grouping. you need more furniture I think.

I think the added elements at the window might be shades? I would wallpaper the bed wall. No picture above the bed. Lamps on end tables and art.

Maybe add another blue drape panel in the middle of each window.

To Ann Dee : I like what you've posted, so will look to add more pillows in laughter colors to add some contrast. Unfortunately, I can't afford to start over and the curtains and comforter are new...my old room was in burgundy and we were tired of the colors.

All- I should have mentioned that the curtains are new as is the comforter and I like the color combination. I plan to take Ann Dee's suggestion and add more pillows with more colors. I think adding another color will help...but not sure if that should be a bright color like coral or more neutral like beige or off white??
I really can't afford to start over and buy new, but need the curtains of block the light for my husband to be able to sleep, so it's more complicated than just making it look pretty. I also don't want the room to be too feminine....

First I would either hang some sheers on the windows or a swag draped over the top it will help the window section stand out more. Tight now it looks good but really blah. You do need more decorative pillows for your bed and maybe a trunk at the foot of your bed. Not an old one thought more modern version. You also need to space your night stands farther away from your bed, not too far obviously but center them with the wall. A longer picture or about five of the same size pics above your head board would look really great. Then I would get some decorative lamps for your night stands. Stay away from the greenery. It tends to collect a lot of dust and its not something you'll want to have to clean all the time.

In the photo above with the iron art, I would move the end table forward to the front of the loveseat. Better for placing a cup of coffee. Use only one lamp. Lamp could be moved to the back of the table and centered :)

Just a quick lil sketch of what I was talking about.

Try putting the pillows on the love seat on the same side....maybe the side away from the table/lamp and stack them, with the darker color behind.

Try something TALL on the chest with the blue above it to fill in a little of the gap on the wall there. One side filled in will be fine.

I'm sorry, but end tables are too far apart to comfortably use them for an alarm clock or setting a book on. End tables typically are placed within 6" from the bedside for convenience :)

It's a quick sketch like seriously done in under a minute just to give an idea of what I was talking about. In her room there isn't much space to put the night stands that far apart in reality.

I've measured the space above the headboard and hope to have the following photos taken by my daughter blown up, framed and hang them. Would hang the house one in the middle.

Those pics with the colors would go really go with the colors in your room.

To LB Interiors- I really like your suggestions and will think long term on this and plan to perhaps wallpaper just that one wall. The funny thing is how things stand out in pictures more, the two lamps are not to stay. I didn't even notice them as I hope to find a new lampshade to use the table lamp elsewhere in the room, otherwise I'll remove it to another room:-) so I just sat it 'out of the way'! Thanks for your input!
