Has no one responded to my question because the tree is actually "normal"? Or is it beyond saving?

how do you water ... do you flood the pot so a lot of excess water runs out the bottom every time?? .. and how often do you water ...

if not.. then i wonder if it really needs to be fert'd every two weeks ....

why all the fencing? ..

will it be going in the ground anytime soon??

Hi Ken! I deep water once a week. I light water every two days or more if it's hot. I also switch up fertilizer, between supertrive and foliage pro. Sometimes half and half.....
That is a cat fence to protect the tree ᾒ3. My cat broke off a few lower branches the first day it arrived....

The tree doesn't look too bad to me. Is it always outside? And that is an awfully large tree to keep in a pot.

Yes I have had it only two months or little more and I still haven't found a plan for underground planting yet. I think it looks a lot worse than the sister trees it has at the nursery, and was hoping the sunburn symptoms would have stopped by now (toughened up?). I will keep an eye on it. The fine roots do surface to the top of the soil and fortunately they are still white and healthy looking. Thanks.
