I'm editing because I forgot to mention that I love Fiestaware. Unlike @Shannon_WI experiences, I have found ours will scratch a bit from knives and forks. Fiestaware is very durable otherwise. My daughter has a collection of plates, bowls, cups, serving pieces and even some retro pieces, which speaks to its durability. I own some serving pieces and all my coffee mugs are Java mugs.

Love Fiesta, but they don't fit well in my dishwasher tines due to their thickness. Therefore, I just have a few pieces rather than an entire set. I have not had any scratches from knives and forks.

Edited to add: Fiesta recently came out with Stacking Mugs. I bought 4 just to check them out, and now I am saying "where have these been all my life?!". They stack in the cabinet nicely unlike most mugs that teeter-totter when stacked. I note that the available colors of these come and go - a color I bought is now not in stock, but another color I wanted that was not in stock now is.

Too heavy. Takes up too much room in the cabinets.

I have been collecting Fiesta since college - probably before you were born 😂

I don't use my vintage Fiesta because it is delicate and chips easily. I used to love using the three compartment vintage plates becaue it reminded me of eating lambchops, mashed potatoes and peas when I was a kid.

Now the vintage stuff is all on display along with some Russell Wright.

The new stuff is much stronger and is great for every day. It is so cheerful and makes me happy to use. The new and old colors all seem to work well.

I don't know why people are afraid of color but then when I did a gut remodel and redecorated, the first thing I told the designer was no white; no gray and no beige. I do have neutral cream walls and a white ceiling but tiles, furniture etc. are colored.

I don't know what the price comparison is since I don't think it is incredibly expensive. There are always at least 20% coupons for stores selling it and the stuff can easiy be added to. How much do you realistically need - speaking as someone who just opened some kitchen drawers and realized I had drawers full of useless china and mugs and serving pieces :-).

I have Fiesta that I use for everyday dishes. I purchased mine directly from fiesta and if you get on the mailing list, you will get notified of sales. I add pieces when it goes on sale. My plates fit in my dishwasher with no problem. You may get some knife marks on the dark colors. I have gotten some on my darker Mulberry, but none on the lighter Meadow. They are a bit heavy. Also, I have gotten great customer service from them. Hope this helps.

shannon, glad you mentioned the stacking mugs. I was waiting for them to get back in stock to try a few.

I've owned and used Fiesta in cobalt blue for 40 years. I've never broked a single piece.

I have a few serving pieces. I find the dinner plates too heavy. Usually once a year we take the 30-45 minute drive to the factory and look in the 2nds room. It's is a nice get out of the house drive. Sometimes something attracts me and sometimes not. Growing up everyone had the dinnerware. It was cheap and given away as promos at grocery stores, theaters, etc. Up until the resurgent of its popularity you seen it all the time at garage sales. Is it really worth the price? Personally I don't think so, but it must be pretty durable because the restaurant my daughter w at uses the plates.

Those staking coffee cups look neat since they stack. I remember there use to be plastic coffee cup like that. Next trip I'll see if they have any in the 2nds room.

My mom has tons….collected it piece by piece 30 years ago. I suspect I will be inheriting it one day.

I don't have any Fiestaware, but have often admired the colors when I see them on display at the stores that sell it -- the colors are so vibrant and happy!

I have 2 Fiesta pieces given to me as a present; I love the strong colors too!
