could you provide a pic of the white truffle? It sounds amazing!

Sounds like both rooms will be the same and perhaps would just be injected with more blue/pink decor.

How old are they? If over 5, would they like to have their own special look. You could use white paint to connect the 3 rooms and rooms below can be easily updated as tastes change.

The colors the girls chose are nice, but I would not do their walls in those colors. I would do something a little different and do their ceilings in those colors.

Add more of those colors in accessories throughout their rooms, in drapes, bedding.

So far your idea board says masculine and adult. How old are these girls and what's the likelihood of new paint long before they are more grown-up; just in the natural course of paint life? At the most add a dash of the wall color to the ceiling paint so it is barely there...ceiling are meant to sore and it sounds like your do, don't weigh them down with a saturated color.

I too think you'd be surprised (and not in a good way) at how much color those you show would add to the rooms. You might want to consider doing very pale variations on those the girls like, adding more in their bedding, accessories.

I don't know your childrens ages if that even matters, but years ago my brother had a house with lovely architectural details and used a pink so soft you really had to study it to know if you were seeing pink not warm white walls. It was beautiful, even in grown up spaces ;0)

If you decide to go with pink or blue walls, I don't think you should paint the trim and ceiling the same color as the walls. If you do those in white you won't have to do them over again when the girls decide they want a different wall color. It is a pain to paint trim and ceilings. Also, if you find a pink or blue paint that you like but it is too strong, just ask the vendor to cut the tint in half. I have done this several times with Benjamin Moore paint and have loved the result.

The ages is a really important part of this decision . I find kids have a favorite color every year for quite a whaile so I never use the color of the year for wall paint , unless of course you love painting. . I use color of the year for things easily changed like bedding , pillows etc ans use a nice neutral for the walls until such time as they reach the age when they can paint their own room any color they like .

@Patricia Colwell Consulting @arcy_gw I can change the wallpaper selection if everyone feels like it’s to masculine. The girls are 7 & 4 ( I just didn’t want it to look to babyish. I’m opening to painting the walls in both of their bedrooms neutral- I did Chantilly lace in the jack and Jill so far , I could just do white on their bedroom walls as well. And then the study has that fun pop of color…. I can take more pictures if that helps. or

I don’t find the paper too masculine, but they are so young, it’s a good time for something lighter and more whimsical, especially for your four year old.

Here is sw white truffle. Still isn't a great photo and this is only primed and obviously not finished. Windows all had paper on them to protect them as they just did all the trim, so the light is muted.

It works well with the third paper especially, but also the first. It will have longevity and you can accessorize in a youthful way now and as they get older, only items in room might need changing.

The study could have just one wall papered, given the papered bedrooms and bathroom - don‘t want overkill.

I’m not a fan of that paper, as it will overwhelm/not work with your really lovely selections. Consider the space as a whole.

If you want whimsey, consider painting and adding some framed prints.

What an interesting layout! While I prefer J&J's to have separate private spaces, I'm sure it works for your girls, and I really like the shared study space! Very cool! Your girls are lucky :)

Also white truffle has a bit of a dusty/lavender undertone to it, not peachy/coral. If you wanted to lean more orange in your pink you may want a different color...my point in showing you the white truffle was to compare how it looks on the chip (kind of awful IMO - I would never have chosen it if the designer hadn't recommended it) to what it actually looks like on the wall (really pretty, light dusty rose). But, of course, I think the color is beautiful so absolutely go for it if you like it!

@maureen I guess I’m super confused because I wasn’t going to wall paper their bedrooms. I was only thinking of just the wall around the tub and then just a wall in the study room. And then white Chantilly lace color on their bedroom walls.
And then on each of their rooms they each having a sliding door that will lead to the study and I can paint that a color since the walls are all white.

So only two spots that need the wall paper.

Sorry, originally I was thinking you were papering their bedrooms, one focussing on pink and the other blue. Your plans makes things a easier!

@Maureen I know it’s confusing sorry! So since it’s just behind the tub and then one wall in their study that has wallpaper- which wallpaper do you think will look the best behind the tub. and then which one for the single wall in their playroom? The walls in their bedrooms will be white. And do i paint the wall in the study room across of whatever wallpaper you think white as well?
