IMO quartz is a poor choice for kitchen counters since hot pots are not a friend to quartz you also cannot use it behind cooking appliances so IMO pretty useless material in a spce where heat amd hot pots are the norm. Just because you see somethin in a picture does not make it good design and IMO too many stars in a kitchen just fight eachother .You are way ahead of yourself since backsplash and wall color are the last itmes you choose .I aslo never mix real with fake stone . Why not a tleast check out some nice white granites when polished pretty darn close to bullet proof in a kitchen

I thought I needed my counters to match if there were 2 tones of cabinets, but then a KD asked if I wanted the island to have it's "own moment" like a featured piece of furniture. I don't know that there are hard and fast rules of what you have to do to pull it together. We are still in the early idea phases, so I am not sure what we will do yet.

Not sure I like the gray cabinet door next to your floors. Does it look better in person? The door looks like it's too cool a color for the floor. Black might work better, and it seems to be a consensus on this forum that gray is on its way out or is already over. But to be clear, I think the floor is beautiful, so no need to change it.

I like an island in a different color than the perimeter cabinets, but I would prefer the same countertop throughout. I think your island would stand out enough without having a different countertop. There are lots of different opinions on quartz vs granite. IMO, this is a question of whether you prefer a natural material to manmade. I think you could find as many people prefer one as the other.

If you get a counter with some movement (looks busy), then you should choose a monotone backsplash so they don't compete. But as Patricia says, the backsplash comes last. There are so many options in tile that you don't have to worry that you'll find something you like.

Thanks for comments. i put the ”facts” down because theyre things i canot change. so as to whether grey is out, or tile was picked too early, , not much i can do about that at this point. was hoping for help (countertop recs…including name, color, material) with the existing pieces for my kitchen. the floor is staying, the cabinets are white perimeter, the gray island will be gray and the backsplash is as pictured. thanks again.

Agree the mixed cabinet and courners in the first photo are too much. thats why im worried. i like it in certain photos, bit unsure if ill like it in mine.
