We bought Southern Pine C&Better fir our outdoor patio ceiling that is approximately 900sq ft. I understood that we would only get pin knots. We have some knots that are 2” and they were installed instead of cut around. Now that I am stuck with these I want to make sure we treat properly so they wont bleed through after painted. I have read to use Zinsser BIN Shellac Primer 3 coats, then prime, then paint 2 coats. If I spot treat these knots will the paint have a smooth finish when done? Is there anything I can do besides this to prevent knots from bleeding through? Thank you!
