How often are all of those sofa seats occupied by people? Do you need as many as you have? If not, but you still love them, could you keep one, get rid of the others and find some arm chairs to work into the mix? Also, I would try pulling them away from the wall by a foot so they are floating more. It seems like your rug could be a bit bigger as well.

Nice built-ins by the way.

IMO the TV goes where the clock the clock could disappear completly since no one needs reminging of the time when we all have phones. I agree too much furniture for the space Get a mantel the size of the whole FP and I would suggest not something so thick but rather a nice thick wood very simple. If that is recling furniture IMO too bulky for the space you can find comfortable smaller scaled less poofy furniture

What I see is that the mantel doesn't even fit over your fireplace. I would remove it and lower the position of your TV so that viewing is a bit more normal.

Also, there is no point in placing a small plant in a corner where it cannot be seen. Replace it with something larger. I would move the complete seating arrangement a foot closer to the window/door wall and purchase a canvas with some color to mount over the sofa.

You don't have to purchase furniture the size of a cow to find something comfortable, but you already know the scale of the furniture dwarfs your room. When you purchase oversized furniture, everything else needs to be larger, end tables, accessories, plants etc.

Oooh! I love that

Harsh remarks, but I do appreciate the advice.

You say harsh??? Tell me how you would have preferred me to phrase it.

Would it look better to have the two couches facing each other and the chair on the “clock” wall?

Wow! That looks great! Barely looks like your initial post. Congratulations!

Looks much better!

It’s been a work in progress! Thank y’all!

Good job!

OMG is this the same room? You are a genius, Sara. You need to post these photos in the Houzz Before and After so more people will see this and be inspired, Quite the achievement!

That means so much! Thank you 😊😊
