I noticed some brown stains on a dinner plate when taking it out of the dishwasher.

I tried all the remedies eg baking soda, vinegar etc but nothing would work.

I decided to make a paste with some Sard Power Stain Remover I use in the laundry. I left it on the plate for about an hour and was very pleased that the stain is no longer there. I looked on the label but it does not say what the active ingredient is but it does say it does not contain bleach.

I also had some red wine stains on a light coloured timber cutting board so I decided to try it on that. The stains went very dark immediately and I thought I had really done it, but I left it for a while longer and when I went back the stain had gone.

Just thought this info might help someone else.
