Stainless chimney style hood seems like the obvious choice but would need to know a lot more about the kitchen

I vote for stainless chimney hood. It will be a nice contrast to the cabinetry. Where is the duct located that will go from the hood to the outside?

I advise against black stainless steel appliances. First because the black swallow light, especially a fridge which is such a large flat surface area. Second because of the reports on this forum of the finish easily scratching. Third because stainless steel goes with everything. It will look good to have the stainless steel hood and the stainless steel appliances.

Can you find a hood in the darker stainless steel color of your appliances? Many of the ss hoods are the standard color. I think it would definitely break up the white very well - but your appliances plus a different metal might be too much.

@M Miller, I already have the black stainless appliances & really like. @RedRyder, yes can find a hood in darker stainless steel or a matte black, so am considering a black ship lap or farmhouse style hood or a hood that matches cabinet with a piece of wood trim on bottom that matches island color or flooring.

Matching the cabinets with a wood trim could be lovely! Not sure is black-black shiplap will work. Maybe a soft black?
