They are great plants, easy to care for and responsive to good care. Tolerate lots of sun or much less, mine appreciate water but if I forget, they wait patiently. Broken off pieces root easily. At least that’s my experience.

Thanks to the great advice here, I left them out for 'cooler' temps and they are just starting to bud. Only Madame Francis has started to bloom.( thanks forum friend).

Party….they are all beautiful but I really like that first one.

I like all of them. I have red, pink, white. Seeing a lot of buds, I should have some blooms in a couple of weeks.

@greenman, yes, nearly every one I have is blooming now but most of mine are considered Thanksgiving cactus. The flowers started opening last week.

You mentioned that your Christmas Cactus bloom at the same time as your Thanksgiving Cactus, so I was curious if the Christmas Cactus are blooming now, too. My Christmas Cactus has tiny buds currently, but definitely doesn't bloom until December.

I like this red and fuchsia one. I also have a pink/fuschia and a peach/fuchsia but they pale in comparison. Also, the dark green and purple leaves make it stand out. I have not found them easy to care for. They constantly drop stems at the drop of a hat.There is stem die off from root rot from rains, There's stem and blbud drop just because or not enough water etc..

Here is my red Zygocactus. I have another pink one hanging in the garage, and I bought a small, white one today for $2.99. Think I am going back tomorrow to find more colors! Yes, definitely my FAVORITE "holiday" plant.

Greenman, actually mine are all thanksgiving cactus. I have the red in full bloom now, the salmon partially blooming and the pink has buds but I think it is a at least a week from its first bloom. I might also get a white/cream one to complete the collection. They do make for a spectacular show while in bloom, much more so than the kalanchoe but the latter do last a lot longer. None of my kalanchoe are in bloom yet though most are now in bud.

I think most big box stores sell the Thanksgiving cactus as a Christmas cactus. I have two white ones that are both blooming now. I know they are Thanksgiving ones because I have learned that here on gardenweb. Thanks All!! I would love to get a Christmas cactus also and now I know how to lok at the leaves so I can tell the difference.

@party_music50 - WOW!! All the colors of your plants are so pretty. I especially love the first one. Is that a salmon color? How many do you have?

And if I'm looking at the 'leaves' correctly, this fuchsia one may be my only xmas cactus (vs T-cactus).

I also have a deep reddish-orange Easter cactus, but in its current location it's not a reliable bloomer. The flowers on those are very different.

Those little slips I started over a year ago started blooming right before Thanksgiving (USA) but the way it looks it still may be blooming by Christmas. :-)

When I saw the picture, I knew what you meant. :-)

Weekly watering for the most part, short day window sun with many partly to cloudy days. The top of the 511 does get a little dry this time of year but the plants don't seem to mind. The Perched water level must supply enough moisture between watering.

One already has a new home as soon as it's built. ;-)

Here are some pics of the hot pink and salmon/orange colored ones. I have to ask how do people grow these without it disintegrating at the drop of a hat? More than half of my pink as well as red plants just dropped off stem, buds and all. Truly frustrating.
