Hi, I have to choose a ceiling light for my kitchen. It will be the ONLY light in kitchen. The room is 10X10 and has one window. What kind of fixture and bulb will give me the most light for the room?

I was thinking maybe a clear glass light that can hold a 150 watt bulb or greater. Country/rustic or victorian would suit my home's decor but, at this point, anything that will throw a lot of light would be great. Thanks in advance.

There is only one light in the kitchen and it is on the ceiling. There are no other lights in the room. I really appreciate all of your suggestions but I have decided to go with a large schoolhouse style white glass lamp that holds a 150Watt bulb. I think/hope that should do the trick.
