when I was a student I could tag along with a real plantsman landscape architect. He hired us for simple planting stuff and taught us loads while working.

He did soak them overnight,

and I did also when I used them aons later myslef

I think they really got much plumper after the soaking (sorry, no pics, and I reckon you give them a head start

if planted dry it would probably take much longer till they got activ

it can surely not hurt ... but i wonder about our ground freeze soil .. and wonder if it makes any difference ... lin... does your ground freeze?

i guess im thinking ... by the time the ground thaws ... there is usually enough moisture for the bulbs.. regardless of how dry winter may have been ... so what diff would additional moisture at planting make ..... make at planting ...

just wondering .. navel gazing at best ...

ages ago was in Berlin, with sandy soil and definetely some frost

I think the idea was that they put down roots before the frost sets in

the others I had at my last flat, in loam, with mild winter but some frost mostly around February
