I would bring the dark color of your doors to the other side of the room also.

I would not do velvet drapes but a nice lighter weight fabric could work . IMO captains chairs are dated and honestly I don't think you have space for them. Maybe post a to scale plan so we know the exact meaurements of the space . If possible I would wan the buffet to sit between the 2 windows but I need a floor plan and also the size of the table.

Room is 14x14. It’s a 7’ table. Not enough space between windows for buffet. Maybe a small dresser would fit. There is space for chairs. Maybe Captain’s chairs was the wrong term I just know I want a different chair on the ends of the table.

    Scratch that, 14x16

The buffet looks a little jammed in the space. Will it fit better on the wall with the arched entry? I would lower your light fixture and probable move the lovely personal photos to another room.

Overstock has more than 30 colors of velvet drapery panels to choose from.

I thought the rule for the chandelier was 36” off the table? That’s what it is. Pretty sure the electrician tossed the chain and cut the wire to put it at that height.

I know! I saw the crazy sale on the velvet curtains. So many colors. do you think I should just put pure white. Or a cream color? Or a light blue of some sort?

Typically chandeliers, 30" above a tabletop and 60" above the finished floor.

The room seems soft greys, linen colors? ... is the console a creamy-tan-ecru?

What colors are you using in other parts of your house?

Would a pro and also would you think a lamp desirable on the console? to spread light around the room, and add style...

First buy and properly hang the curtains; then see what wall space is still available for furniture. I would match them to the wall color or to the stripe in the chair upholstery. Unless you regularly seat 8 people, stick with 6 chairs and rearrange so two are at the ends. True, your chandy is hung too high Add a taller than usual center piece to help fill the gap.

When the cord is cut on a chandelier, you cant "lower it" without rewiring it, I would agree its a little high, but its a little late to make that change unless you are all in on that.

Unless you need to seat more people I see no need for end chairs here. Or the buffet really.

What about removing the chair rail? Roman shades?

I did rearrange the chairs. I like that idea. It means I don’t have buy two more. I may try to see if my husband can rewire the chandelier.

I have this same shade in the master. Black stripe on white. Is it weird to put them in a second room?

I just had the buffet when we moved and I trying to find a place for it in the house. It matched this room the best.

no one really goes in the master bedroom but you. and no its not weird.
