Upcycle Queen to King Mirrored Headboard Set

Hello! We upgraded to a king mattress and I would really like to upcycle our old queen headboard set to fit the new mattress and frame. Would anyone have a recommendation on a good website where I might find ideas on how to do this? Set is similar to the picture (headboard plus two side towers - no platform). I’m comfortable doing the cosmetic work, but want to ensure the framework and support would be possible as is it is a heavy duty set. TIA!

Not sure why you want to keep such a heavy, dated piece of furniture when you have a great opportunity to improve and upgrade the style of your bedroom. I would sell that on Craig's List or FB Marketplace and use the money to apply on a new headboard that actually fits your mattress.

The only thing I would keep is the base and I would paint it.
