About 15 or so years ago i had a Dacor elec. cooktop. One problem after another and cust. service was not great. Within less than 10 years my ”new model” cooktop was discontinued and i could no longer get parts. i lived with 3 burners for a long time because i couldn’t believe i had to replace it so soon. i was ticked off.

i would vote no on Dacor

Dacor is now part of Samsung. I see no reason to pay $25k for its appliances when it's just got a Dacor badge slapped on it.

Viking would also be a terrible choice. Wolf/Subzero would be good, but an entire suite would be very expensive.

You should not get all one brand of appliance. Different brands excel at different appliances. You may also want to spend more on a cooking appliance if you like to cook a lot, and less on a fridge, or the reverse if you don't cook a lot and have a lot of takeout and delivered food. It depends on your lifestyle, so there is no reason to get all high-end or all low-end on your kitchen appliances. Don't worry about the handles matching - no one notices, or remembers what the handles looks like, or cares about the handles.

Agree with what Shannon says. Get the best appliances for your needs.

i would stay away from any Wolf oven with a blue interior. The blue chipping has been going on since they introduced the blue and there are more posts this week here about it happening recently. Look down the list of posts to find the recent ones.

My experience with Dacor was awful but some time ago.

Note that Dacor is a Samsung brand so often you can buy virtually the same product under both brands but at different prices. For example, the Dacor DTI30P876BB ($2400) induction cooktop is virtually the same as the Samsung NZ30K7880US ($1930) except the Dacor is missing the useful "virtual flame" feature.

Some products are unique to Dacor but its least expensive induction range is the Dacor HIPR30S ($6000) which is twice as expensive as the Samsung NE63T8911SS ($3055).

I have an 18 month Dacor full column fridge and the cooling system is not working (under warranty). It's been 3 weeks, 2 repair visits and I'm still out of a fridge because they can't fix it and don't want to replace it. I don't recommend!

Also have sub zero freezer drawer and it has had 6 repairs in 18 mths for ice maker.

Have WOLF induction cooktop, oven and steam oven. Hard to keep oven interior clean and I religiously wipe it down after every use. Don't feel the money is worth it for WOLF although no repairs in 18 months.

I have purchased gas cooktop 10 years ago, worked fine until a month ago. Now, it is broken and their service came up to fix it. No luck, no spare parts for my cooktop. It costs me almost $200 for nothing.

I am very disappointed with Decor, I will not buy any product from them any longer and I strongly suggest to avoid their products altogether.

Dacor was an independent company until August 2016 when it was purchased by Samsung. Many cooktop parts are generic. Report the model number and parts needed and someone may be able to locate them.
