'Red Dutch' does great!

'Zeba' is new, I hope it winters!!

I love lilies, though so do the darned red lily beetles new to the region, gggrrr!

Ohhh, I've been eyeing 'Debbie' and I think I should invite her over, lol. Yes, 'Flavia' is a stunner, mine had done totally fantastic for a few years and then just up and disappeared. need to replace it if I can!

'Beverly Dreams' is stunner and has the nicest deep dark foliage ... but, it has the annoying habit of growing on a lean and must be staked, it makes massive bulbs!!

'Zeba' is a bit more on the tender side, so I planted it very near to the foundation of my home where it will benefit from the warmth that escapes through the concrete.

Deer, are a constant nuisance for me! Lily beetles disgusting and very persistent for the entire season, voracious appetite, terrible seeing them destroy buds and open flowers as well! Despite such, I can't resist adding a few more lilies each year!

Beverly Dreams is another that we planted this fall and yes and I can't wait to see them!! These are in the hydrangea pen so staking should be easy.

Touchstone is somewhat similar, if a bit darker, than my my Robina which I received as a mislabel but was pleased anyway. Several of my bulbs are planted in front of an old head high stone wall

foundation which over the years I'm sure has leached lime into the soil but those that I have planted there don't seem to mind.

Donna, the soil is a bit overly peaty wet where I had 'Flavia' and others planted, I must dig what bulbs remain there and amend the soil. Only a few times have I had pocket gophers come in, they must immediately be eradicated otherwise quickly do much damage!

Yes, I also have 'Robina' as well! 'Roselily Sita' is cutie, I don't have that one, but 'Roselily Samantha' I was very pleased with! I didn't get around to taking a photo, though here's one from the net.

L Clark, do you have many lilies? You and I both have similar severe climates, it's always interesting to see what you're growing there for yourself as well.

Frozebud. Just about to leave the office - I have an orange Asiatic that overwintered well and multiplied into two. I planted some stargazers, casablanca and muscadet (which Donna kindly ID'd for me in another thread). We'll see if they survive the winter. I would really like to get into lilies if they will work for me. Don't know why they wouldn't. How can one not love them

@FrozeBudd_z3/4 can you ID all the beautiful plants in your corner? I see a couple (three?) clematis, a hydrangea, the lilies and not sure what the rest of it is.

I too have been studying your lovely photo!! You certainly have a way with clematis that I don't have! Do I see 3 varieties? Also is your gorgeous lily your 'Red Dutch' and what would that one on the left side peeking in be? ('Zeba')?

My only other double is 'Dynamite' not actually a double in fact, only a few flowers were semi-doubles the rest were singles. Doesn't hold a candle to 'Roselily Samantha; I hope yours grows well for you!

Here is 'Passion Moon' which I received as a mislabel and it took me a while to I'D

it. The bulbs were very small so I have hopes that this coming season 'Passion Moon' will live up to its name!

Clark, the small white clematis is 'Maria Cornelia', the name of the purple clematis slips my mind, I like the changing colors as it ages. The tall heavy flowering lily is called 'Shocking'. The hydrangea is arborescens 'Bella Anna', it fades to green all too quickly. 'Gateway' Joe pye weed is what's leaning most towards the garage doors.

Donna, that's lilium 'Shocking' standing tall and beautiful here, also is peeking in on the side as well, 'Red Dutch' is similar, but about half the height, both are very worthwhile! I'd say 'Roselily Dynamite' looks great, I enjoy these short stature doubles! 'Passion Moon' will be a stunner for you come next summer! :)
