Color Perception - please comment

I am interested in other people's perception of a color as we make that color lighter.

Often when the only thing that changes is luminance (how light the color is) the color appears not only lighter, but also more colorful.

Can you please look at each of the 4 photos below and pick the color that looks lighter, but not more colorful or more gray than the original color for each photo? Each Photo 5, 10, 15 or 20 points lighter on the LCH scale. The center blocks are numbered with the 5,10,15,or 20 and a dash and the numbers 1 through 11 which represent 11 different Chromas going from more colorful to more gray left to right.

Example:

5-1

10-3

15-4

20-5

There are no right or wrong answers, we all see color a bit differently, but there is usually a pattern to what most people see.

When I have gathered and analyzed the results I will publish my findings on this post.

Thank you for participating
